Volunteering

Volunteer Program
Volunteers are required to make a minimum commitment of one 3-hour weekly shift for at least 6 months. A friendly smile and good communications are required.

Your first step is to download the Volunteer Application form and submit the completed form to the Programs Manager at the O’Neill Centre. You will then be contacted to book an interview where we will discuss your needs and the volunteer opportunities that are available. Once your placement has been assigned you will then be required to:

  • Attend an orientation session
  • Provide applicable screening information (references and a police reference check)
  • Complete a 2-step Mantoux (TB) Test
  • We will then provide training and ongoing support for your volunteer role

Student Volunteer Program: (16 Years of Age or Older)
Join our team and gain valuable work experience! Student volunteers generally work as their school work permits (1-3 hours per week). Good communication skills, commitment and teamwork are essential skills for a volunteer.

Students must be at least 16 years old to apply as a volunteer and are required to make a commitment for their program choice. The O’Neill Centre offers student volunteers placements during the school year or during the summer. Please download the application form and submit the form to the Programs Manager at the O’Neill Centre. You will also need to complete a 2-Step Mantoux (TB) Test prior to the commencement of your placement.
